Postbox Pocket Meadow<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Molescroft Parish Council, Molescroft Wildlife Network, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust & East Riding of Yorkshire Council are establishing new wild flower areas on parts of Rosemary Walk. Our aim is to improve biodiversity in our local area by managing this new meadow for the benefit of wildlife. Pollen and nectar rich plants are being encouraged, helping bumblebees and other insects which are in serious decline. Thank you very much to ERYC staff who have changed the cutting times and removed the trimmings. We were given meadow hay from Barmby Moor, after scarification this was scattered, seed was allowed to drop, and ERYC removed the hay. Thank you to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust for the support, equipment and time they have given. 2023 was also the year that we saw the yellow rattle that was planted in the previous year springing up successfully on the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Mary\u2019s Church, Molescroft Parish Council, Molescroft Wildlife Network & East Riding of Yorkshire Council are improving biodiversity locally by changing the management of this area for the benefit of wildlife. This is a work in progress while we get a management plan in place. Thank you very much to ERYC staff who have changed the cutting times and removed the trimmings. Pollen and nectar rich plants are being encouraged, helping bumblebees and other insects which are in serious decline. Local groups interested in nature have enjoyed their visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
